Trails down low were sugar coated early but well chewed up on the way out.
MicroSpikes, etc. would have worked up to the solid ice flows starting below the Log Cabin area. CRAMPONS would be the choice for the entire day. Leave the snowshoes at home. Ski pole for some, Ice axe for others above treeline.

Somewhat breezy day, but nothing too bad. I'd say 20 something mph. some quieter times with a few higher gusts. With sweet sunshine. (Got the raccoon tan, with the sunglasses on.)

The conditions up top were about as good as they get. With a little less wind, I'd say PERFECT! The snowfields on Jefferson were, IMHO, the place to be Sat.. You could pick your own way to the top! Many did. An ideal area, if you wanted to practice self arrest.

Up at the summit, I saw a familiar looking, or dressed, gent approaching with another guy. It's Mad River, Rick how are ya! Nice to meet ya Farmer Bob.

Well, a nice way to finish the winter season, with Jerry & Steve.
