A great hike rain or shine! We dropped off one vehicle at the Mt. Meader Trail trailhead and drove over to the Basin Pond parking area (1.6 miles north on RT.113) to begin the hike.

Ascended via Basin Trail and Basin Rim Trail to summit of Mt. Meader. Descended via Mt. Meader Trail. RT approx. 6.7 miles. Trails are wet and muddy but suprisingly not too slippery, and very well maintained. Hermit Falls is worth a look, nice cascading water falls. Good choice for a rainy day today. Mosquitos were pretty brutal as expected. Fresh moose tracks here and there. Lots of cool lichens.

Thank you to friends Michael and Kathy for making this a most enjoyable hike!
