Date of Hike: 8/02/2008
Trail Conditions: Crawford Path was a running stream in places and boot sucking mud in other. Thank goodness for the strategically placed rocks in some of the muddy areas. Mizpah Cutoff muddy but in reasonably good shape.
Special Equipment Required: Waterproof boots a necessity; poles always helpful.
Comments: Lucked out on the summit of Pierce when clouds lifted for about 30 minutes. A number of families hiking up to the hut as we were coming down. Hope they beat the downpours. 5 minutes after leaving the parking lot, the skies opened up.
