Plenty of room at the summer trailhead...lower part of Starr King Trail had running water and muddy spots but still solid...dry trail really on the traverse to the spring area, then a few icy patches from there to the summits of Starr King and Waumbek..a few blowdowns that we were able to remove but 3 remain that will need to be cut up..as we arrived at summit and a few steps beyond to the viewpoint, clouds broke and we had an ok view..continued on Kilkenny Ridge Trail for .2 to restricted view north to Cabot, Terrace, Horn, Rogers Ledge etc it was ok!! #20 for the rookie member of this hiking circle....
