Trail conditions: windy and icy in the parking lot. Solid base with some loose powder down below.. snow got softer and deeper to the loop junction. All crossings solidly bridged and invisible. 2-4 inches powder on North ascent made for real great footing. Treated to great views from the summit as snow pack now has you pretty much above the trees. Beware the spruce traps off trail. Ridge trail had light and fluffy powder with some deeper drifts and brushy spots. Nice views near summit of South. Descent wasn't bad..some butt slid, used snowshoes, teleshoed, or a combination of the above..terrific conditions

Equipment: snowshoes car to car

Comments: threatened high winds diminished once out of the parking lot tho I think the first hike of the year where i started off with wind protection. Beautiful blue skies and strong sun tempered the zero degree air. Virtually calm winds on the summit..big and happy surprize!!! Nice views from North and a fun powdery romp along the ridge where we met Hannah and she who hikes with her for a moment. Easy descent down South where all kinds of tactics were used...Excellent day out as Val (winter 46,47..woo hoo) bags a couple more
