This a late trip report because we did this trip Friday 28 but took a less traveled route so it might interest someone. The trailhead is a little tricky to find because the stone pillars and chain are hard to see going south from Franconia but it is right where the guidebook says it should be. Parking is limited to the side of the highway. Trail was in excellent shape, brushed out to 8' wide in most places and only one small blowdown. Stream crossings were icey. We used Stabilicers most of the way. Even so, Anita slipped hard once coming down. Crusty snow on Kinsman Ridge trail. No one had been there since the previous storm although I am sure people have up there since we were. This trail is easily nicer than any other way up to this peak, and also probably the least traveled.
