minor old ice and snow in patches between bare ground on Lincoln Woods trail, increasing with a lot of mud the closer you got to Owls Head. The slide had about 4" of wet sticky snow on it that made going up much easier than it was just 10 days ago. The ice underneath the snow was getting a little softer too but it was still there. We were able to bare boot the whole day but we met a young guy coming down in microspikes and another young guy was ahead of us in crampons. Even though the sticky snow gave us some traction going up we decided to bushwack down and not worry about the ice. A note might be that you do not want to follow our tracks on a bushwack as I am sure it is not the traditional way if there is one.
It was snowing on top with probably 5" - 6" and the trees were dripping with snow and water so it was hard not to get wet but the weather was great and there was no wind.
