Had the pleasure to meet Pat and Audrey on our Mt Jackson hike today. Good to see you both ! It's been a few years but you have not changed at all. Not in winter clothing anyways. What a day today was, uh ?

It was so nice to see you again and to see that you haven't gotten a day older either.
The weather, the scenery, and the interesting bushwhack up high made this a stellar hike. I've never been up on Jackson with such a depth of snow cover!

Hey Bertrand, Pat and Audrey, what's this about an "interesting bushwhack up high"? Did you use the Webster-Jackson? Are there a lot of blowdowns? How many? You can help me prepare for our trail work outings. Thanks!

We did use the Webster-Jackson and the Jackson branch.
Just before the trees started to get thinner and scragglier, the treadway veered from the trail for a couple of short stretches and then went substantially to the right of it as we climbed out into the open areas and through some fine-looking "glades". The krummholz was nowhere to be seen.
There are a few blowdowns and some bend-overs (?) on the trail and I expect there'll be a lot more when the snow melts, since we were walking above the treetops.
