Date: sat. 3/6
Conditions: Trail and bushwack are packed highways. About a 1/4 mile above the Mizpa cutoff junction the trail is lost in a maze of herd paths. Bushwack proceeds to climb south Pierce and then about 3/4 mile over to the summit of Pierce. Sorting out the herd paths made the trip a little interesting. Perfect snowshoeing conditions but many preferred to bareboot, and several thought they needed full crampons.
Comments: My thanks to the hardy soul who broke out the initial bushwack. (Ed Hawkins?) I never would have attempted it. Nice meeting Rols and others on the trail.
