What's the best way to remove pine pitch from a sleeping bag? It's an old nylon bag, down filled, and I've JUST washed/dried the entire thing, so I'd like to spot clean it. My pup decided to track in some pitch while camping last week. Thanks.

Try De-Solv-It, a citrus based product that's available in Wal-Mart in the cleaning aisle. I's be lost without it for cleaning up all sorts of greasy gunk. Under three dollars. I've used it to get pine pitch off the chiars in my yard, off my car, off my hands etc.

Try Rubbing Alcohol, my sister's a Christmas tree farmer and that's their exclusive solvent, as it cheap, and almost always on hand.

Alcohol...

To get the pine pitch off of your hands or regular clothing is ok, but use caution on special fabrics. The alcohol can take off protective coatings and/or break down the fabric. Never use gasoline on poly based fabric!

Thank you...

...for the suggestions and the welcome! I will try the citrus based product.
