Hurricane Mountain and Bear Notch Roads are open

BARTLETT—The answer to the most popular question at Bartlett Town Hall this month is yes — Bear Notch Road and Hurricane Mountain Road have opened for the season.
Spring has officially sprung, according to N.H. Department of Transportation. The top of Hurricane Mountain Road on the Bartlett-Conway town line opened Friday afternoon, along with Bear Notch Road in Bartlett. The roads had been closed since Nov. 2.
The roads traditionally close the beginning of November, and such was the case this winter when 10 inches of snow fell on the roads on Nov. 2. They typically open around the beginning of May but have opened as early as late March in the past.
Both roads received less than the normal amount of snowfall this past winter and were able to open a little ahead of schedule this spring.
