R rocket21 Well-known member Joined Jan 29, 2007 Messages 2,256 Reaction score 308 Feb 16, 2009 #3 Not a bad idea to have an ice axe handy - I've been over it once (well, twice since it was out and back) with sizable snowpack, and my main concern was being able to self arrest if I were to lose balance.
