Trails: 19 Mile Brook Trail, Carter Dome Trail, Carter-Moriah Trail, North Carter Trail, Imp Trail, Camp Dodge Cut-off

19MB is pretty much hard-packed due to hut traffic, few spots of ice here and there in some open areas where water flows to the brook. Carter Dome Trail had a dusting to 1” of new snow until closer to Zeta Pass. Closer to the pass there was some exposed ice, one significant ice bulge. At Zeta Pass, and on Carter-Moriah Trail, the snow depth increased to 2-4”, but nothing that needed snowshoes; microspikes or similar worked just fine. Same across the ridge and then partway down North Carter Trail. North Carter and Imp has some ice hidden under a dusting of snow, but again, microspikes did just fine. Weather was nicer than advertised, at least on the Carters. Another great day out with Greg YEAH!

Nice to meet erugs and friends at the North Carter/Imp Trail junction and put a face with the posts and the orange cat in the green sleeping bag!
