Sunrise Mountain? (South of Macomb)

Has anyone hiked Sunrise Mountain from the Elk Lake Trailhead? How long would it take and would it have a good view for a sunrise?

Just in case you did not know, Sunrise is on Elk Lake Lodge porperty (Private) and you need permission to climb it. Permission is granted to any guest of the lodge ($$).

Permission denied!

I have hiked Sunrise as a guest staying in one of the beautiful cabins at Elk Lake. Elk Lake is truly one of the most extraordinary places on the planet. It is also extremely expensive. It was a one shot deal for us, but worth every penny...errrr dollar. Sunrise is a moderate trip with spectacular views of Elk Lake and the High Peaks to the north.

About two years after our stay there, I called the lodge to ask permission for a day hike back to Sunrise. I was refused permission to do so.

OK by me....it is (afterall) private land and we all have to respect that.
