Occasionally, over on my forum, we ask a member with expertise on a particular subject to post something about the topic. This one was SO good, I thought that I'd share it with this larger audience. Since the author is Nessmuk of this forum, I'm sure he won't mind. I hope this is okay with the moderators here.

Great article.

Well worth the reading. Good pointers for the novice and the experienced hikers. Takes you from A to Z on the basics of navigation in a very easy to understand sequence.
