A hearty group of three headed out to Carrigain Notch to attempt Vose Spur after "Nemo" (when did we start naming snow storms?).
The parking lot had seen one pass of the plow at some point, but still had a good bit of snow in it. My Camry made it in (studded snow tires), but it was touch-and-go. We broke trail through 2 feet of powder, and made it to "The Rock", and headed in. The loose snow on top of hardpack underneath made for lots of hard work, with little reward to show for it in terms of ground gained. About a 1/4 mile into the bushwack, we punted.
It was a quick 3 hours back out.
Ah well, no check mark for the peak today, but we still had a great day out in the woods on a bluebird day!
