Wapack Trail ATV damage

Sunday I hiked on the southern end of the Wapack trail from NH route 123 to the summit of Pratt Mountain. While the northerly end of the trail (through Windblown Ski Touring) was in good shape, an ATV trail came in about 3/4 of a mile from the summit of Pratt and overran the trail to the summit of Pratt. Damage to the trail was substantial in muddy areas.
Anyone know when, who this happened? Does the landowner permit or is this just vandalism?

Unfortunatly, the southern corridor of the Wapack is in part logging roads, and access is easy for motorized traffic. I'm sure the land owner(s) didn't give their consent.
