In June of this year (2012), the Shelburne Trails Club opened a trail to the ledges on Bald Cap Peak. The corridor is about 0.4 mile long, and it runs from a point near the southwest end of Dream Lake to the ledges.
The Peabody Brook Trail was in good condition. One blowdown that was blocking the trail was removed. All water crossings were easily navigated. There are some spots that are very muddy on the final approach to the trail for the Bald Cap Peak ledges. There was an inch or two of snow on the trail at the upper end.
The Bald Cap Peak Ledges Trail was in great shape, other than a few blowdowns which were easily moved off the trail corridor. The entire length of this trail was coated with an inch or two of snow.
My BLOG has a few photos taken during this trek.
