Both Mark and Jay provided the closest points to Bannerman's but be careful, you have to cross the river and weekend's are crowded with pleasure boats and jet skis (get an early start).
This is a nice 2 1/2 - 3 1/2 hour paddle on the Hudson River, we put in at the Metro North station in Cold Springs, NY and paddle north about 2 1/2 miles.

Trek, I read it earlier as well, I sent it to my buddie with a suggestion for next summer. We plan on some pond hopping in the Dacks next month but a trip to Maine on the Penobscot or Allagash for a week would be Great!
