  • Thanks for the congratulations, Ed. Looking forward to bumping into you and Lauky on the trails again soon... :)
Oh my pleasure. It was just a very simple, yet profound comment. Certainly gave me pause! Thanks :)
Ed, thank you so much for the kind words! It's always magical to be up in the Presis on days like that. I'm glad that I was there to capture the views on camera so that I could share them with others... :)
My favorite winter hike was Mt Wash. with an amazing undercast last year. I can wait on winter, but enjoyed seeing your pics of whats to come.
I know exactly the feeling of coming out of the clouds into a gorgeous day above the clouds ;) Good stuff!
Ed, thank you! I think that might very well be my favorite picture from last winter. The Castle trail on a calm, beautiful winter day is certainly a sight to behold... :)

I hope to bump into you and Lauky on the trails soon!
    Hi:
I remember you. Must have been Lauky out there, I didn't see any other dogs all day. Good to talk with you. As we live in Maine we don't often get over to the Adks but I always enjoy it when we do.
Hi there. I think my wife and I saw you near the summit of Marcy last week. I recognize your dog...he begged me to scratch his belly. :=)
It was our first time on Marcy and we loved it!
    Steve
Thank you for your nice comment on the Kinsmans TR. Your report of losing Lauky for more than three hours was really sobering -- thinking of you calling and calling for your dog without knowing if you'd ever find him was heartbreaking. Tuckerman likes to chase after other hikers too, and especially other dogs he sees on the trail. This hasn't been a big problem yet (though perhaps annoying to one or two hikers), but so far I've been able to get the leash on him in time. I tell myself he's still a puppy and will become better trained in time, but I wonder.

Meanwhile, we dog-lovers ought to stick together! Hope to meet you and Lauky on the trail soon.

    Very best, /Steve
Wow losing your dog for 3 and a half hours must have been scary. My wife and I lost our husky on pleasant mtn last year for 20 minutes and it was just a terrible feeling. I am happy every thing worked out for you.
Hey Ed -- I'm considering hiking The Carter Moriah Trail saturday --Moriah to Carter Notch Hut. Any interest in all or part??? I recall Lauky needs some of those peaks!
