Here's a related story. The day after Min Bahadur Sherchan, 76, from Nepal summited on May 25, Yuichiro Miura, 75, from Japan also made it to the top. Miura skiied Everest (along with Chicken Man Dave, I think ) in 1970. This link has the story and a great clip of Miura skiing (and wiping out) on Everest.
