Several years ago we saw this YouTube video and since that time we have wanted to hike to East Pond and today was the day. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7aRQkJnU8RU
It's a short hike; 1.4 miles with an 800' elevation gain to the pond from the Tripoli Road trailhead.
In no time you are at the pond. It is one of the most scenic ponds in the mountains.
After spending a relaxing half hour along the bank of the pond, we headed back to the trailhead. A short and sweet hike.
If you haven't been to East Pond, do put it on your list.
