Two upcoming book signing/slide show events:

This Saturday (6/4) @ 1:00 @ the Mountaintop Historical Society in Haines Falls, NY, Robert Gildersleeve will sign "Catskill Mountain House Trail Guide" and show slides. There is another signing in Cedar Grove on the 5th. This Daily Freeman article features a short, interesting interview w/ Gildersleeve:

He states that some of the trails around the Catskill Mountain House site are in fact the oldest recreational hiking trails in the country. Note also that the author has corrected the event info in the "opinion" section at the end of the piece.

The other event is a signing/slide show by Hardie Truesdale featuring his new photo collection "Adirondack High" This one is in July at Ariel booksellers in New Paltz:

Truesdale's photos are almost invariably beautiful and inspiring, IMO.
Standard disclaimer-no affiliation with, or financial interest in the authors, publishers, book store, blah, blah...

I was looking at this book in Barnes & Noble on Friday. It was very good, just didn't have the cash in my pocjket at the time to get it. I'll have to pick up a copy. The authors comments after the article also have a link it the
Mountaintop Historical Society event. There also appears to be a couple of small hikes scheduled. I will be camping at North lake this weekend. Will any other VFTT folk be in the area for this event?

There's a small group of rainier folks (Guinness, Daxs, TMax and I) That will be in the area doing the Blackhead range on Saturday and then KHP on Sunday... But obviously we'll be hiking at 1pm...
