Trail Conditions Soft packed to packed all the way to the slide. Many areas quite soft, so snowshoes were the footwear of choice. Several folks were successfully skiing the first 5 miles on the marked trail. Snow cover was excellent. Slide was icy in places, we donned crampons and were happy. Others were making out OK with MSR's, but we know of at least one who tumbled on the descent, severely bending his pole, but still smiling. Once on the slide, and beyond, many were wearing crampons, so less packed. All water crossings were solid today.

Equipment Snowshoes, skis if that's your thing, crampons.
