This is a honey of a trail - even-tempered and a sweet hike the whole way. Left the trailhead at 0730, on top of Moosilauke the Bald around 9:20 where we sheltered from the wind in lee of the rocks. Spectacular 360 degree views, a somewhat cold wind.
The treadway and layout are all excellent. No blowdowns at all, well-brushed out. We've done all the routes to the top except Snapper, and this is our favorite. About an hour and a half back to the car.
Encountered a Dartmouth orientation group as we headed up - and again as they were approaching the peak. Another 16 hikers and five dogs completed the domesticated hiker contingent on the trail today.
Recommended equipment - wind shirts and cameras.
