Trails: Bunnell Notch, Kilkenny Ridge and Unknown Pond Trail.
Special Equipment: Poles were helpful for the brook crossings.
Trail Conditions: Wet and muddy but not too bad.
Comments: Bugs were not bad today but that may have been because of the rain and wind. While on the Horn we could see a storm over in the Mt Washington area, so we decided it was time to leave before it came our way. We made it to Unknown pond and the rain and hail started coming down pretty heavy, so we booted out of there and then the lightning started with about 3 miles to go to the car. The storm just seemed to sit right over us until about the last 1/4 mile then the sun was back and it was beautiful again. Even with the conditions at the end of the hike it was still a great day of hiking.
