Peaks: Cannon Mountain (4100 ft.) and Northeast Cannonball (3769 ft.) - #67 NEHH
Trails: Lonesome Lake Trail, Hi-Cannon Trail, Kinsman Ridge Trail, Rim Trail, Around Lonesome Lake Trail, Dodge Cut-off
A good day to acclimate myself to colder climes, while hitting another Hundred Highest peak, and doing some shameless redlining. I think all but ~0.5 miles was new trail to me. A lot of damage from Sandy, but nothing terribly crazy. Some erosion here, a few stepover/duck under blowdowns to contend with there. A couple uprooted trees caused damage to Hi-Cannon just as you come on to the trail from Lonesome Lake Trail, and on Lonesome Lake Trail, just before Around Lonesome Lake. A bit of rain and a bit of snow highlighted the cloudy conditions I encountered, but temperatures were comfortable and the wind was light.
The whole story is HERE.
Cheers,
Bill
