Mt. Chocorua via Champney Falls, Piper Trail, Brook Trail, Beeline, Bolles Trail
Trail Conditions:
Champney Falls is delightful and well maintained.
Beeline is underused and thus has many blow downs, some of which I could not remove.
Bolles Trail is wet with broken bridges on the Tamworth side and in much better condition on the Kanc side.
Special equipment: poles for me
Comments: Today I transformed a delightful 8 mile hike to Chocorua into a more challenging and interesting 10 plus mile hike. The Bolles Trail used to be a railroad (corduroy), and is currently used by snow mobilers in the winter. Using this trail adds some significant elevation to the hike, maybe 700 or 800 feet, since you need to climb to the ridge of the Sandwich Range.
