After a long and splendid career my trusty Garuda single wall tent has a fatal illness- "delaminitis". On a recent and rather wet backpacking trip over the New Year's weekend I was alarmed to find that my tent had gone from leaky boat to sinking ship. I found that the single wall material, which appears is made from two different kinds of layers laminated together, had started to seriously delaminate and now I fear the process can not be recalled. I have gotten very sentimental over the demise of hiking boots that have carried me across miles of great trips- but I am very sad over the loss of this piece of equipment which has accompanied and sheltered me on so many trips.
