DIxes and Macomb trip

I am about to plan a trip to Macomb and Dixes on the weekend of 23 October but am hearing rumours of this area being closed due to hunitng season. Does anyone know if this is so and what limitations may apply?

Trails from Elk Lake are indeed closed during big game hunting season, which this year is October 23 - December 5. You can still climb the Dixes from the north via Clear Pond or east via the Boquet River or Lindsay Brook routes.

A further question - exactly what areas are out of bounds and when?

I guess they don't close for the archery dates as they are already in effect.
