Trail Conditions: The forecast was for high winds, cold temps and possible precip. However until we neared tree-line we had been shedding layers and enjoying comfortable temperatures. Sky was partly cloudy with ample sun and nice views. The trail was wet and some rocks were slippery. Once we reached tree-line everything changed. It was cold, winds at least 25 mph and some sleet. Fleece, windbreakers, hats and gloves deployed. Fortunately the precip was intermittent so we enjoyed outstanding views from the summit and Eisenhower Loop. It was cold enough that we deferred lunch until back in the shelter of the trees. Descent was uneventful despite a few slips and slides on the slippery rocks.

Special Equipment Required: Poles helpful due to the wet surfaces.

Comments: A nice day in the mountains.
