Greenland paddles

Has any one used greenland (style) paddles? and if so how did you like them?

I've borrowed a friend's Greenland paddle before for a short period. It feels nice and seems really nice for sculling as the natural buoyancy of wood (they do make carbon greenland paddles, but most of the ones I've seen are wood and many handmade by paddlers). I have not tried one for any extended period of time but from what folks tell me, it is easier to paddle so long as you have a fast cadence. Perhaps liking it to cycling in a lower gear but higher cadence versus a bigger gear at a lower cadence.
