Anyone been to Ice Gulch lately? I'm considering heading up there next Monday or Tuesday and hoping there might still be some ice to cool me off

Anyone been to Ice Gulch lately? I'm considering heading up there next Monday or Tuesday and hoping there might still be some ice to cool me off

Haven't been there since last year, but I can guarantee there will be ice there! I'd advise not going in there alone. Also, going in from the bottom and exiting from the top is much safer! Watch carefully for blazes, so you don't take any wrong turns that only add to to the difficulty! The trails in and out are well used by moose!

I traversed the Ice Gulch from west to east. This way you have Peboamauk Falls to cool off in. Either way in my opinion is a challenge. Attached is my report of my trek thru the Ice Gulch.

Haven't been there lately, but I've done it in July a couple of times. There are definitely a few places where you'll feel the cold from the ice, but it'll take a bit of searching to actually see it.

thanks for the info. Guess I won't need my crampons then . If I get a really hot day I might just have to head there
