At the trailhead there was an inch or two of fresh powder on a hard packed trail. I wore my snowshoes to help pack it down but there was a barebooter ahead of us who made it all the way to the top without doing any damage to the trail. On our way down we passed several others who wore snowshoes and the trail was well packed.

There is one blowdown in the vicinity of the Flume cascade. It is an easy step over--about knee high.

The trail was easy to follow all the way to the summit. The ledges were filled in with snow. There was no scrambling, it was just a steep hard packed trail to the top. There was some drifting just below the treeline but only for short stretches. At the junction with the Webster Jackson fork we continued on the Jackson Branch trail. The Webster branch appeared to be fairly well broken out although no one had gone over it today as of our descent around 11:00 AM.

The Flume cascade brook was frozen over.

When we started there was a light snow and the temperature was about 29*. The front came through as we made our way up. The sky cleared, the temperature dropped about 12* and the wind became quite strong. It was blow you over strong when we reached the top. We spent no more than a minute at the top, grabbed a couple of pictures and headed down. Once back in the trees it was quite pleasant and it was a beautiful hike back down.
