Date of hike - 1/8/11
Conditions - Trail totally packed out. Solid hardpack with no new snow. Some sections with some ice down low. Very icy right below the summit.
Special equipment - Traction definitely needed for the section below the summit. We used crampons and they were perfect. Saw many folks with microspikes who seemed to be fine, although a few of them ended up bushwacking around the icy section at the top. Snowshoes not needed at all.
Comments - Great day for a winter hike. Lots of people at the summit of Jackson and the parking area was full when we got there at 9:30.
