Jefferson Notch Rd Status

Anybody have boots on ground condition of Jefferson Notch Rd? FS site says open unless any snow, then gates locked. Was wondering if vehicles or snowmobiles have been on it, packing it to a firm base. Toying with a bike-hike-bike loop this weekend.

The groomer was out last wednesday 1/20 with about 6-8 inches of snow on the road. The gates have recently opened for over-snow use, but there was very little snowmobile traffic. Much less snow than usual, but still good for winter sports. With the recent warm days it might set up enough for a fat tire bike.

H--seeing Psmart's reference to "the groomer," who is it that's grooming Jeff Notch road? and do you mean groomed for XC, or something else?

It's groomed by one of the snowmobile clubs - basically it's dragged and packed. It's a primary snowmobile trail, although the traffic is very light at the moment.
