Below is a conditions summary for a loop-hike involving the Carter Ledge Trail and the Middle Sister Trail. Some narrative (plus a few photos) about this trek are located in the Trip Reports forum. (Click HERE)
TRAIL CONDITIONS:
Carter Ledge Trail: Overall, this trail was in good shape. There were a few occasional blow-downs of no consequence, and a few minor muddy spots.
Middle Sister Trail: This trail had several blowdowns that were interspersed for the entire 3.3 miles between the two points where this trail junctions with the Carter Ledge Trail. All could be stepped over, or ducked under, but two required going off-trail for a short distance.
SPECIAL EQUIPMENT: There's no need for special equipment
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS: For anyone unfamiliar with the Carter Ledge Trail, on the upper portions of this trail, there are some ledges that slope steeply downward which could be dangerous in wet (or icy) conditions.
