Skied from Albany Covered Bridge to Bear Notch Rd and back. Conditions are fantastic, 6-8" new snow on packed base. A few minor water crossings, all easy to ski around.
Used skinny skis with metal edges, which was a little overkill - plain old touring skis would be fine here.
Someone (rangers?) has recently run a snow machine most of the length of the main trail, from Paugus Ski Tr to Albany Bridge. Packed the trail nicely and made for carefree skiing, just glide and enjoy the surroundings, but somewhat diminishes the backcountry feel...
The Wenonah loop was completely untracked, and the Wenunchus loop had only seen two skiers before me.
