The trail description is in the AMC Southern NH Guide but part of the trail is used by snowmobiles and the blazing is sparse in spots and can be a bit confusing, since some of the blazes look more like lichen patches. Round trip is about 9.5 miles.

This is a perfect snowshoe trail, easy to moderate grades all the way, although previous postholers forced us to watch our steps more than we'd have liked to do. The upper section is a beautiful yellow birch glade with old ski tracks in evidence. At the upper parking lot/picnic area, we chose the easy Rollins Trail to the top to avoid possible slippery ledges on the Lincoln Trail. The view from the rocky summit is 360 degrees, just turn your back on the towers. Moose, deer, and small predator tracks were everywhere.

Book time is 3 hours 20 minutes but it took us 4 hours due to trailbreaking and dealing with the postholes. And only 1.5 hours from Boston! Definitely worth a return during spring wildflower season - the woods are very open and you can bushwhack anywhere you choose.

Great trail, Audrey! It is now one of my regular mud season hikes.
And a real peakbaggers peak: county HP, and P2k 50 Finest

Were you on the S-R-K Trail at all?
That's on my 'list'
All but the lowest part of the Lincoln Trail is SRKG, the winter walkabout (including 2 guys named Bob) did that section today. Some people wore snowshoes on the middle section. The cliff on the upper section was nearly bare and we didn't use the rope and crampons we brought. Down the Barlow Trail, well packed in feet. Guest celebrity was Julie Boardman, author of When Women and Mountains Meet.
