Date of Hike: March 9, 2014
Trails: Mt Tecumseh Trail from Waterville Valley Ski Area
Trail Conditions: The trail has great snow cover and is rock solid. This was a group hike and everyone wore light traction car to car. No postholing today. The water crossing at the trailhead is open, but easy to cross.
I hiked about 50 feet beyond the summit towards Tripoli Road. The trail is broken out, but nothing like the approach from the ski area.
Special Equipment Used: This was a group hike. We either wore microspikes or trail crampons the whole day. Trekking poles are optional. We saw some people without them today. Leave the other gear in the car.
Comments: It was a beautiful sunny day. There were light winds as we approached the summit which caused us to layer up. I think the only clouds I saw were hoving over the presidentials.
