This is excellent...

especially well written, superb photos and the slideshow with explanations about dressing for winter hikes was excellent.

I found this to be a better article and photos than the one from Nat Geo for reasons which may or may not be only obvious to me. Won't start any arguments here about winter bravado.

That's why we have great terms like "krummholz" so we can slip around the ID.

Yeah, I missed that initially. I still think this article superior to the NG article. I'm still not sure if the NG writer was writing about Mount Washington or about his relationship with his brother.
