trails: davis path, mt. parker trail, bushwack, unmarked spur trail, mt. langdon trail
conditions: relatively dry trail low on davis path with a dusting of snow higher up. some exposed ledges had a coating of crust and ice with a couple large blowdowns between crawford spur and parker trail. trickiest section was a ledgy sidehill on resolution where light traction could have been useful. bushwacked to the highpoint of resolution leaving near the forest protection area sign through generally thick snow covered spruce and fir passing an interesting small pond enroute. the snow dissipated leaving resolution. a fair amount of blowdown through this section to parker, much of it older. followed an old unmarked spur trail to a nice ledgy viewpoint partway down off of resolution. once into the hardwoods on mt. parker and mt. langdon trails there is a lot of leaf cover which required careful walking. the same old large blowdowns on mt. parker trail below summit on langdon side. relatively small water crossings were not a problem.
equipment: having microspikes along not a bad idea, but would have had limited use today.
comments: nice hike. pretty cold, windy and wet up high. some occasional views and a nice run in with a snowshoe hare who was sure we couldn't see him in the snow despite still being in his brown fur. thanks to jeremy for a good day.
