Schoodic and Black are located not too far north of Frenchman Bay and offer fine views from their open summits especially towards Acadia's mountains and the ocean. They are just over 1000' but like Acadia nearly all that elevation is gained since they are close to the ocean. Still free of winter conditions unlike interior mountains. I have full trip report and lots of pics at my blog:http://www.tomcatoutdoors.blogspot.com/2013/12/schoodic-and-black-mountains-in.html These are the two prominent peaks you see looking across Frenchman Bay from the summits in Acadia.
