This story is very spooky. I was already spooked from a rescue that went sour. Yesterday I treated and helped evacuate a patient who subsequently died in West Milford, NJ.

I've hiked from Blue Lake in Sterling Forest not too long ago (January?). I hiked up to the Highland's trail and then back into NJ towards Monksville before heading back.

Blue Lake is also a fishing lake and also accessible by car and the fact that they found Nikes, might indicate that it's not a hiker that died, perhaps a fishing/boating incident or perhaps a body that was dumped there. That's some large feet though!


I read about the rescue in West Milford, I'm only like 5 minutes from Germantown rd. Hard to feel sympathy for all the trash and drinking that goes on in the woods back there, as well as the illegal ATV usage, but I guess it's tragic for that person's family.
