Wasn't there myself, but I just talked to a friend of mine who skied in the vicinity on Sunday, from the northern trailhead most of the way up to the lean-to. He said the snow depth was fine for skiing, so it must be pretty decent.
Gore got about a foot up high, 8" at the base. That should be representative for Lake George, too. I skied in the woods a lot yesterday. It was fairly good if you don't mind bottoming out occasionally and hearing a scrape or a bang or two. And be ready to clear obstacles that are sticking up; it's not quite the uniform blanket that we should have at this time of year.
