Thinking about doing the Trap Dike next week, weather permitting. I am wondering if all the rain we've had will make the waterfall difficult to climb.

Any thoughts? Anybody been up there lately?

Phil...there was a group planning on/hoping to do the Dike today. Keep your eye out for a trip report to find out if they did it or not. If not here check ADKHighpeaks.com....1ADAM12, Hillman, Jim C and one other.

My thoughts would be to give it at least 5 days of no rain to drain completely. You don't want to be climbing it when it looks like this...trust me. :)

I've done it when it was too wet before. Not fun in the dyke or on the slide. Anyway, way too wet today, we bushwacked Avalanche mtn instead. If it stays dry, I might retry for this upcoming wednesday, or maybe a day next week.

What are the chances we'll have 5 days in a row with no rain ?
I was thinking about attempting this next week also.

Well, the good new is if you decide to go in there and need to be rescued, you won't be charged for it.
