Conditions: Lots of snow up there. I followed earlier snowshoe track through 6-8" new or blown snow up to where the trail is lost. From there I was able to just barely follow previous groups bushwack up the gully. As mentioned in earlier thread, VERY steep and VERY difficult climbing, especially above gem pool. Clear sailing once you approach Lakes and up the summit cone. I carried crampons but never needed them, left the snowshoes on all day. Coming down was a whole new challenge which basically ended up as a series of long controlled butt-slides using my pole as a brake.
Comments: Many thanks go out to Tim/Bob/Mike/Justin for their tremendous work breaking out the gully bushwack earlier this past week. Just knowing you had made it up those steep sections gave me the confidence to continue.
