Hope this is just an opportunity for us all to rejoice in a true "Indian Summer" after this cold front passes.

because there was another sucky situation this morning involving a father and young son, who had hiked up Tucks and gotten over their heads with exposure above the rim. Dad guided the blue boy across Alpine Garden Tr. ( not entirely in the lee of a gusting NEasterly at 50 mph) to the Auto Road and was able to flag down an Auto Road work crew truck to take them to safety/warm/dry/rehydrate at the summit. Lucky for them the hiker shuttle was actually running down bound at that time of day.
