Did anyone hear anything about a climbing accident on Pok-o over the weekend?

This is very sad. I'm sure more details will come out after investigation. As I understand it, this was a rappelling accident that took place on the upper part of the face. Every activity has risks; please be careful out there.

Very sad to hear news like that. They say that more people die rapeling than climbing. If anyone finds out the cause please post.

He was a good friend of AlpineSummit, Mod on Highpeaks.

And there are more injuries descending mountains then going up...

IIRC, something like 1/3 of the deaths in technical climbing are rapelling accidents. It is fairly dangerous--only one source of support with no backup.
