From the RMC:

July 15, 2011: Spur Trail Construction in Progress

The Randolph Mountain Club trail crew will be performing major reconstruction work on Spur Trail between the Hincks Trail junction and Crag Camp, from July 18 to August 12.

For your safety, please use an alternate route to Crag Camp and the summits.

For Crag Camp and the upper Spur Trail: use Hincks Trail to Gray Knob cabin, then Gray Knob Trail east to Crag Camp. Other options are available; please consult your map and guidebook.

The RMC trail crew will be installing durable stone steps in place of existing log ladders. During this time, the ladders will be removed and this section of trail will be extremely difficult and possibly dangerous to negotiate. During working hours, Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. - 4 p.m., the crew will ask that hikers remain well away from the project when rock is being moved or power tools are in use.

For more information, call the RMC at 603-348-3180.
